Dr. Al Latschar

Dr. Albert Latschar has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Plainfield area for 47 years. He attended Rutgers University for three years and was then admitted to the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Latschar graduated with distinction in 1959 and then served a one year internship at the Small Animal Clinic at Cornell. After his internship, he purchased a veterinary practice from Dr. Edward Cushing at 947 Prospect Avenue in Plainfield, later known as the Plainfield Veterinary Group. After leaving the practice on Prospect Avenue, he established the North Plainfield Veterinary Clinic in 1981. In 2002 Dr. Latschar began practicing at the Animal Medical Group of Plainfield until joining the Plainfield Animal Hospital in October 2007.

Dr. Latschar and his wife, Joyce, have four married daughters, fourteen grandchildren and a much pampered cat named “Put Put”. He enjoys visiting with his family, vacationing in Maine and at the Jersey Shore. He is an avid reader and huge Stephen King fan.
