Due to concerns about the novel coronavirus and related disease (COVID-19), we are taking additional precautionary measures (per the recommendations of the CDC) within the hospital to keep our staff, doctors, animals, clients, and visitors safe, while continuing to provide essential patient care.
We have increased our sanitizing protocols around the hospital for client and staff safety to allow us to remain OPEN.
Our primary goal is to stay healthy, keep others around us healthy and continue to provide service throughout the duration of this pandemic.
Also for clients who do not want to travel into the clinic please utilize our Hospital’s Online Pharmacy. This can be a great resource to ensure proper social distancing, but still provide the necessary medications and nutritional products.
FULL RE-OPENING PLAN - as of 5/23/2021
As our state continues to lift Covid restrictions, the staff at Plainfield Animal Hospital would like to welcome you back through our doors! If you are comfortable doing so, we will be seeing patients in-person for all types of appointments. We will continue to follow Covid safety and health guidelines to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all our clients and staff members.
Please see below for details regarding our Full Re-Opening Plan.
Schedule Appointments with Doctors or Technicians
If you have a scheduled appointment, we will allow you to accompany your pets into the building. If you prefer to remain as a curbside appointment, you are welcome to do so.
When arriving at the hospital, please call the office to let us know you are here. One of our technicians will meet you at your car to check you in and bring you to an exam room.
Please do not come to the door until you are told. Our waiting room remains closed to clients.
In the exam room, your technician or doctor will go over your pet’s history, the reason for your visit, and ask for any other pertinent information. Your pet will then be brought to the treatment room for his or her exam. No exams will be performed in the exam rooms. Clients will wait in the exam room for their pets to be brought back to them. You will check out at the front desk as normal.
To ensure a safe and orderly appointment with your technician or doctor, please note the following rules are to be adhered to by all:
- You must request an in-person appointment when you schedule your appointment.
- Only one person per family is allowed in the building for the exam. If you have family members with you (including children), we will ask for you to remain as a curbside appointment.
- No mask, no entry.
- If you have traveled out of the country or state within 14 days, we ask for you to remain as a curbside appointment.
- If you have any Covid-19 symptoms (i.e. cough, fever) we ask for you to reschedule your exam.
- Currently, the bathroom is not for use by clients.
- These guidelines are to be followed by all clients regardless of vaccination status.
Scheduled Surgery Drop-Offs
When dropping off your pet for a scheduled surgery, we ask that you follow the same procedures above as if you were here for a scheduled exam visit. If you prefer to remain as a curbside drop-off, you are welcome to do so.
Medication/Food Pick-Up & Fecal/Urine Sample Drop-Off
When picking up food/medications or dropping off fecal or urine samples, we ask that you please call the front desk when you arrive. Our client service representatives will take payment over the phone for products or lab tests, and a technician will meet you at your car to drop-off items or pick-up samples. Please do not come into the hospital for these services.
Thank you for all your dedication and support during these challenging times! Please reach out with any questions.
