Steps to Take In A Pet Emergency

If you are experiencing a veterinary emergency, follow the steps outlined below.

  • Please Call Ahead - If it is during our regular business hours, call us immediately and we will provide you with further instructions. Otherwise, call one of the emergency animal hospitals featured above to let them know that you are on your way.
  • Follow Instructions Provided - When you call us, or an emergency hospital, you may be provided with instructions for applying first aid to your pet, or to make them as comfortable as possible until they can receive care. Ensure you follow these instructions carefully.
  • Remain Calm - Remain calm and be extra careful around your pet. When an animal is in pain they often react negatively towards anyone trying to help and could bite or scratch.
  • Bring Your Pet In For Care - Do not put yourself at risk! Safely bring your pet to our South Plainfield veterinary clinic if you have called ahead and we have confirmed we have space in our schedule. Otherwise, bring your pet to an emergency vet location above.
